Ports, Airports and Railway Stations

A major section of The Global Gazetteer^TM is those records relating to Ports, Airports and Railway Stations. They are contained within the main database and are linked (when possible) to the places where they are located.

These records use, for the most part, the same fields as Populated places, excluding some fields such as population, but including some special fields such as IATA, ICAO plus other relevant information held in the various code fields. Please note: not all data is held for all records.

	Major town name, used as the location where the “point” is (V - TOWNS) *
	Runway length; units of length
	Special codes: IATA/ICAO/LOCODE (for airports); LOCODE (ports); TLA/TIPLOC (railway stations)
	Spot code, a detailed code indicating the type of point (e.g. International Airport, or Railway Halt (V) *
	Full address for ports and airports
	Number of locations directly served by airports
